ISMs and ISTs

As we free American citizens celebrate the 250th declaration of our independence from Great Britain, it is appropriate we recall that July 4, 1776 singular event directly led to the establishment of our representative democracy republic based on a constitution. Today, however, our form of government is threatened from within.

America’s numerous mediums of communications present to us citizens a plethora of “isms” and “ists.” Communicative entities espouse the virtues of their chosen cultural, economic, governmental, philosophic, political, or social theory while denouncing the doctrines of which they disagree. Their sugarcoated phraseology and singularly focused blame America game, coupled with the lack of in-depth civics and historical education, are omens to our government’s viability and existence.

In an effort to forestall the onslaught of homegrown anti-America propaganda, if not outright sedition, this publication shall present combined and consolidated definitions of several “isms” and “ists.” Each will be posted over the course of this summer; interspersed with other blog posts. When necessary, related words will accompany each topic.

We Americans owe it to ourselves and our progeny to learn the basic principles of each, and vote accordingly, rather than accept the wizardry of a few who have figured out how to make the media wheel squeak on their behalf.
