It is unfortunate that agenda-driven entities and all too politically enmeshed individuals prey upon the unknowing rather than enlighten the gullible.
The decade-long, incessant, repeated, blanket, and deliberate use of select nouns as adjectives directed at Republican Donald J. Trump affects all Americans. Let us apply some of those oft-used descriptors to other presidents.
Democrat Andrew Jackson, a slave-owning racist against blacks, created the Democratic Party. His MAGA-Democrats elected him to the Oval Office. This white supremacist towards Native-Americans (indigenous peoples) is responsible for the “Trail of Tears.”
Democrat James K. Polk initiated an illegal war against brown people (Mexicans) to fulfill America’s “Manifest Destiny” and colonize the southwest United States.
Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt acted like Hitler and a Nazi-Fascist when he forcibly removed thousands of Asian citizens, green card holders, and migrants from their homes, transported them to concentration camps, and guarded them by U.S. soldiers over several years. In doing so, he shredded the Constitution by vacating both the 4th Amendment right against unreasonable search and seizure and 14th Amendment right to due process.
Democrat Harry S. Truman committed War Crimes by the mass murder of tens of thousands of women and children when he used nuclear Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) to destroy civilian populated cities.
Democrat John F. Kennedy was the United States’ only King who ruled America’s Camelot. His reported “sexcapades” allow for his inclusion as a sexual predator.
The examples above demonstrate the ease at which any person can use words, distort facts, revise what is written, or interpret occurrences from a president’s life, as fodder for nefarious purposes — to denigrate a particular president when disliking and disagreeing with him, or her, politically, professionally, and/or personally.
Every American must be wary of political fiction — the association of political opponents today with select past events. History, influenced by a multitude of factors, is complicated. Too many politicians, pundits, podcasters, social media influences, talk show hosts, media personalities, bloggers, and activists state or repeat words without complete historical context, without supporting valid references, in attempts to convince the ignorant to accept derogatory remarks as truth. These disparagers are the true threats to democracy.
We should all adopt and live by, if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.
